What is Eco Therapy?

Ecotherapy harnesses the restorative power of nature to support mental wellbeing, using outdoor environments to promote relaxation, clarity, and emotional balance. We all have an innate connection to the natural world, and spending time in nature—whether walking in green spaces, paddling on gentle water, it has been shown to reduce stress and enhance focus. Time in nature has a calming effect, creating a meditative state that soothes the mind and supports emotional regulation. Natural settings also help restore mental energy, providing a break from daily pressures and allowing for deeper self-reflection. Outdoor ecotherapy not only improves mental health but also fosters confidence and resilience by encouraging movement, mindfulness, and a sense of connection.

You will work with your same BACP qualified therapist from induction to conclusion. Topics of discussion are led by you. We operate a person centred approach. This means we believe you are the expert of you and you lead the  direction of conversation. Our role is as the expert in therapy and will help you navigate your journey. Therefore we do not have specific areas we claim to be specialists within as all staff have trained in holistic intervention across the therapeutic spectrum.

The multi-sensory level of the therapeutic experience within eco / nature  activities may account for the high level of change reported by participants.
